In the region of Pecunia, new residential complexes are being built for families. Soon, the buildings will be able to accommodate more than 100 families. The aim is to be environmentally friendly. The project will start in spring 2030.
Old abandoned buildings are stripped down and completely transformed into modern new flats.
"Old materials are recycled and reused, which in turn will have an impact on the environment," says project manager Erik Dewaele.
In Cryptonix, we expect the population to rise considerably, making these apartment buildings a good fit. Researchers predict that the population will increase by 20 000 and people will settle especially in Pecunia. The capital city is investing more and more in environmental and family-friendliness. There are more play streets, activities for families, playgrounds. The city listens to the children and young people as full-fledged fellow citizens and gives them the chance to be part of the city.
By 2030, the buildings in Pecunia will have been converted to a more ecological surroundings that will have a major impact on the environment. They will ensure that they use fewer raw materials and energy sources in the conversion of the building complexes. This offers not only ecological advantages, but also economic gains. In addition, they are using solar panels, energy-efficient water pumps and electric heating. Next to each apartment building, they are also placing a playground and a small forest for the children and for a greener neighbourhood. Finally, the first residents are expected in the spring of 2031.
