This morning, Derek Peterson, one of the main founders of XSciences and developers of cryogenics, passed away. He was 147 years old. Mr. Peterson was also the first man who went into a cryo sleep, hence his age. Mr. Peterson’s death was officially announced by his wife Janet Reyes. He died of natural causes in the University Hospital of Pecunia, surrounded by his loving family.

How XSciences started

In 1906, Derek Peterson and Lily Hughes (co-founder of XSciences) did their first research on cryogenics. It was 15 years later in 1921, that they created their first fully functioning cryo pod. Shortly after, Mr. Peterson wanted to try it himself and went into a cryo sleep for a period of 20 years. It was a milestone for science and technology.

The world changed forever

While Mr. Peterson was being conserved in a cryo pod, Ms. Hughes continued doing research and expanding the company of XSciences. She died in 1970 at the age of 96. After healthily waking up in a totally different world and having 20 years worth of interesting data, Mr. Peterson continued developing better technologies. Together with Ms. Hughes and their XSciences-team, they changed Cryptonix and the world in general for good.

An inspiring man

At the beautiful age of 129, Mr. Peterson retired and lived a happy life with his wife Janet Reyes and their 3 children. Two of them are founders of the DreamX cryo streaming service.

“Derek was a truly inspiring man and father. I never met anyone else who was as motivated as him. He dedicated his whole life doing research and made his dream of changing the world come true. Our children will follow in his footsteps and want to be as successful as their dad.” said Mrs. Reyes

There will be a private funeral for his family and closest friends this Friday and a public memorial in the Nix-Cathedral in Pecunia on 24 October at 10 am.

“I was always curious about living in the future, I made it possible while being asleep”
